Centerpiece, Bouquet, and a Bucket of Flowers – Tuesday, July 9, 6:00-8:30 p.m. $125

Dahlias a plenty in this one. Pic by Anna Hedges

With so many blooms and more to come we’ve decided it’s time to host a Bouquet/Centerpiece Workshop. Each participant will first create a centerpiece in her/his choice of containers ranging from teapots to more formal vessels (you may also bring your own container if you have a low profile favorite). Linda will create a demo arrangement using all things summer and will teach the mechanics that allow the free overflowing style she has come to love, then will gently guide participants in creating their own arrangements. We’ll have lots of pretty blooms (including lisianthus!) cut and waiting, but after the demo we’ll turn you loose in the dahlia beds because it’s just fun to add a little “cut your own”.

Lisianthus are coming along nicely!

There will be plenty of flowers for a second arrangement and Linda will demo the in-hand spiral method of arranging and then dropping into a vase. We’ll have ball jars ready for this bouquet but if you’d like to bring something prettier and a bit larger that’s fine too.

And bring a bucket or something similar to take extra flowers home. If we use them all we’ll just cut more!

Cost of the workshop, including flowers, vessel, bucket of flowers, instruction, and light refreshments is $125. Please call or text Linda at 423-367-0361  or e-mail to check availability. Must have 6 participants for workshop to carry with 12 participants maximum. Since this is a quick turn-around, participants can pay that night with cash or check.
