CSA bouquets this week
Thought we’d try one more Farm Tour while it’s nice and HOT and DRY! We love our farm every season but dahlia season is extra special! Farm tours are a great way to see the farm in action and there’s so much going on in high summer. We will start the tour at the Homeplace (399 Bruce Doan Rd., Blountville, 37617) where Roy will share a bit about the old farm including stories from the Civil War times when the Homeplace was being built, then we’ll tour the dahlia beds and cut flowers for your ball jar bouquets. We’ll pop into the hoop house next to see what’s left blooming, then on to Aunt Willie’s, the chicken coop/flower studio, and all the flower and perennial beds – talking flowers and farm the whole time. Cost is $25 and includes tour, a ball jar bouquet, and a packet of seeds from Erin Benzakein of Floret!
Prepayment not required – you can pay when you come Tuesday, September 4 (cash or check only) Please e-mail auntwillies@gmail.com or text at 423-367-0361 to check availability as most tours fill up (Limit 25 participants). Bring a pair of hand nippers if you have and dress for a run down old farm.
